The urban renewal continues. Fescue grass is up from seed. This was roto-tilled 5x and 75 gallons of garbage was cleaned up during that ptocess-broken glass, insulation, bits of house, broken toys, needles, you name it. Garden space now has 6” layer of reclaimed wood chips for mulch and weed suppression. image

The more I see of the System, the more I believe in the value of breaking away and building in small, dense silos. The big S System has ceased to be market rational and no longer allocates goods and services to their highest and best use.

Wire fence to keep cats out of my newly planted strawberries. This is an old fire ring, lined with geofabric and filled with potting soil. image

I gathered the stones off the lot to create the boundary posts. This was a common way to establish fence corners on the prairies where trees for posts were rare and precious. image
