For the past week, I've been reading a lot about the #Coldcard "incident", and the heard the news about #Boltz shutting down. A thought came by, "should I sweep my #BTCPayServer/#LND instance? I run a lot of things there, including LNBits, Cashu mint, they might be vulnerable.". It stayed as a thought. Instead of my hearing my instinct, at another time of the week, I decided (without thinking too much) to transfer some funds I had from my hot wallet to my node, to open a new channel. I wish I hadn't. After 2 days, all my chanmels were closed, and it's the first time in many years that my node shows 0 balance, on-chain and lightning. +1 to the list of August victims.

If we ever need to bump Bitcoin fees for incentivising more miners (say in 2140), we can always enable a #NIP for "indestructible notes". "Indestructible notes" are basically pointers to the note, while the note is published under OP_RETURN. This becomes easier with the on-chain wallets that have been popping up lately in Nostr clients. I don't have a NIP, it's just an idea. What does #nostr think? #asknostr

I host multiple sites and services that work without issues. 1 of them went down today and won't come up. It was very odd that only 1 went down. It turns out, it's the only one using Cloudflare. I can't login to Cloudflare console. I can't even login to my registrar to disable Cloudflare (dns config), because they also use Cloudflare! My hands are tied on this. We all wait for Cloudflare to fix this, and I can't think of a way to fix this on my side. This is peak centralization. Registrars using Cloudflare can bring the internet to a deadlock.

Just saw the "accelerate with gpay" in @mempool. It's quite interesting especially for non-tech people. It would be even better to accelerate by paying via lightning or cashu, maybe using mempool's mint if they run one.
