In the Bitcoin network, time is measured in blocks, not seconds. Roughly every 10 minutes, a new block is born — a heartbeat of the system. It’s not perfect clock time, but it’s perfectly reliable. Today I sent value across the planet — from my phone in less than a minute. No passport, no bank, no waiting for a “clearance period.” Just a wallet address, a few satoshis in network fees, and a broadcast to the Bitcoin network. Within 10 minutes, miners packaged my transaction into a block, sealed it with Proof-of-Work, and added it to the blockchain.
