Does anyone ever go down obscure learning pathways?
In years past, when I would try to pick up bits of a language, I would suddenly find myself going down a wild adventure on Wikipedia or elsewhere and would then decide to learn some outdated script or obscure dialect.
For example, I visited Vietnam for the first time maybe decade ago and decided to start learning about the history of its language. I discovered Chữ Nôm and really wanted to find some resources to learn that script. Mind, I hardly knew any Vietnamese, so knowing characters for a language I didn't speak made little sense. I mean, the only real reasons to do that would be to geek out for fun AND get some nerd street cred.
Does anyone else do stuff like this?

I've joined your Armada community but am now getting this error message:
"The community rotated its keys after this link was made, so you're on an older version and can't read new messages."
Do you have an updated link?

This is the perfect opportunity to remind our friends and family members that their centralized walled gardens can disappear at the drop of a hat.
They need to try decentralized freedom technology: #Nostr, #SimpleX, #Reticulum, etc.

This is another reason to continue growing out the #Reticulum network.

What are the most active #Armada communities? Share links!

Language flexing is some of the most wholesome flexing on the planet.
Look how much this man appreciated meeting someone who took the time to learn his language and about his culture.

I've seen a few notes about something called #Armada.
Are there any decent public communities anyone would like to recommend? If so, please do drop the links! I'll give them a try!

Besides using a Nostr-based messenger and trying to message myself, is there any kind of 'pastebin' client that I could use on desktop AND on mobile to send text and links to myself and to have access to everything on all of my devices?
Sometimes, I just want to share a link or make a note and access it later on another device, but I don't necessarily want to publish it for the world to see. Having something semi-private would be nice.

I'll be the first to admit that I use and abuse YouTube as a sort of search engine to research different topics, but I think this old note from BenniBTC is entirely correct. A lot of content could just be streamed audio and a PDF.
Instead of a PDF, a long-form note on Nostr would work too. Not being super well-informed about all of the different NIPs out there, I'm not sure if Nostr could handle the audio content too?
Alternatively, does anyone know how #Reticulum (and by extension #Nomadnet) would work for this type of model? View quoted note →
I've seen several people mention the Vector chat app recently, so I finally downloaded it (in spite of the fact that I so rarely send messages on Nostr).
The interface is incredibly clean and easy to use.
It does make me wonder if there's anything comparable for desktop?

What I'd be more curious to know is what FOSS alternatives exist for translation on both desktop and mobile.

#Cybersecurity nostriches, who is familiar with these "Global Device ID" from Windows? Who has access to it? Does it negate the point of a VPN, as suggested in this video? Do other operating systems have something similar?

I'm seeing a lot of coffeechain posts. Is there any comparable Nostr hashtag for an evening pint?

I haven't played games in years, but this sort of news makes me want to build one of those DIY, RPi-based consoles for retro gaming.
