For those who are anti-madhab (or madhab-skeptical)…
We all do our best. Instead of debating, let's run a trial: try deriving daily rulings yourself for a week. The reality is we lack time to study hundreds of thousands of hadiths.
Rejecting the mujtahid imams just means blindly following modern scholars (or streamers!) instead.

"Fiqhmaxxing" is becoming one of these "Gen- Zisms" that doesn't tell us anything useful.
Fiqh gives practical rules (rituals, daily transactions, etc.) to ensure our actions are valid. It preserves our dignity & fulfills our purpose as Allah's slaves....but that doesn't mean every fiqh opinion you read about is a matter of consensus.
Game remakes are starting to worry me a bit.
Imagine you’re a junior game dev whose primary experience is working on remakes (because your bosses wanted to suckle from the teat of nostalgia)
Are you really going to learn anything new that’s going to push the art form forward? Unlikely.
You’re not going to be able to innovate because you lack the “muscles” to innovate.
People think building an action game means opening Unity or Unreal and dropping in assets. You haven't really built a game, though. You just built assets.
A game is an engine that lets people walk away with a feeling. It's Art (capital "A"), after all.
Right now we're obsessing over jump mechanics. Found out the hard way that VFX has to either flip direction or billboard depending on which way the character's facing AND if you don't fix render order, your effects vanish behind enemies mid-attack.
Nobody warns you about this stuff, of course. You only find it by actually building.
A "leadership" part folks don't appreciate: I want to ping my dev for a status update every 5 minutes. But I don't. Interrupting someone's focus costs more than the update is worth. So the hardest muscle I'm building is actually learning to shut me cakehole.
New home page. Cleaner and truer to the work:

We’re at a fork in the road: use zakat to fund lobbying, or build the infrastructure the right way.
When Muslims in the Yookay (yes, I know I tease them sometimes) needed halal meat, they could’ve compromised but instead did the hard work, and now halal meat is everywhere (mashaAllah).
Shortcuts feel efficient, but they can cripple you long-term.
Are we really so spiritually bankrupt that we have to bankroll politics with charity meant for the poor?
What I’m building and why I’m here
I’m an independent publisher making speculative fiction with a clear aim: work that respects the reader’s time and rewards re-reading.
Current project is Brotherhood of the Wolf, dark fantasy a graphic-novel series.
A reader you may know here (nprofile1qqswpysavy8wv4fednavdjvs0d4dz8e6rh09wuqzncfgfek2url8h4g4l3zwv shared it and asked me to post on Nostr. That’s why I’m joining this network now.
