Bodily identification is perhaps the hardest thing for any serious spiritual student to let go. Most religions dont renounce bodily identification. Jesus did not identify with his body nor place any value in having one though Christians place supreme importance on it. As ego-minded humans always on the prowl to project guilt onto other bodies, we obsess over protecting our bodies, bringing pleasure to them, beautifying them, enhancing them etc. How would your life be different if you de-valued the body and instead emphasized Spirit, which cannot die and is what we really are in eternity? Bodies are but mere learning devices, a means with which we experience the physical world, and nothing more.

The answers to life’s biggest questions such as “what am i?” “what is this life for?” “why am i here?” can be answered and should be sought. Perhaps the reason why you may not have answers for these questions is because you’re not looking in the right place.
