Pro tips that nobody asked on how to give flowers to your girl without messing up (coming from a biased nostr girl who loves flowers): 1. Be sure she wants to receive them. For some reason (that I don’t understand yet, but have seen it in many friends) some girls get scared when they receive flowers “too early”. My hypothesis is that they interpret them as “I love you”. Just keep that in mind if you don’t mean that. 2. Don’t use them as an apology. You’ll turn flowers into a bittersweet sign. You want to make her happy every time she receives them, don’t transform them in the reminder of sad moments… cause she probably remembers the last time you gave flowers to her and you don’t want to remind her your last fight. 3. It has to be unexpected. Don’t make her expect flowers on her birthday. Then you’ll hate flowers cause they’ll feel an expensive obligation. Send them to her a random day, and not too frequently, scarcity makes them more special. If you want to send her on a special date it’s ok, but don’t be consistent, so that it is a surprise too. Disclaimer: do buy her a birthday present please, just not flowers every time. 4. Which flower doesn’t really matter, unless you know she hates some kinds, it is alergic to them or she is too picky. The size of the bouquet is not relevant either. The important thing is the message: he bought this beautiful, useless thing for me, which he doesn’t understand why I like them, but just because he wanted me to smile today. Any other doubts? What do you think about marriage ultimatums? I can’t help feeling a bit sad when I hear a couple got engaged that way… Am I the only one who feels that way? Lately, I’ve seen quite a few women I know give their boyfriends an ultimatum lately and then received the ring, so technically, it “worked”. Still, I can’t help but wonder if marriage ultimatums might lead to insecurities later on, on both sides.
