Freedom For All

Perchance some artists and individuals who hold a 'privileged' position in a society -- maybe even by virtue of their ethnicity, gender, and appearance -- understand that if they fit the 'stereotype' of 'the most advantaged class' -- they are in a unique position through their action and art --to support and help protect--- with these acts and instances of solidarity...those that might be at the most risk from social/cultural harm due to ignorance and old idea-- ie. -- Maybe that white guy with blue eyes over there grew that beard because he knew racists were about to get upset at people that looked a certain way, ---and maybe that guy knew...that if people went about that their day....and didn't only see brown or olive skinned people with a beard..but also saw that ...'the safe ones' ie. 'white people' can look that way too..-- Maybe people become a little more accepting and chill of folks with beards that aren't white--- And sometimes maybe ...some people are threatened and bullied because of something beyond their control because of who they love....and maybe it makes sense....to support those people too --- to go make some art in some way... and assist in the creation of an opportunity for some perchance to 'see'....and recognize pieces of shared humanity ....
