I get excited when I hear stories like “My OpenClaw bot just made a million overnight!” or “My agent gained 100k followers on TikTok in one week!” and even want to do something like this too. But then some sadness arises. Why would I do something like that? For what? How does that really benefit anyone? And my motivation drops to zero.

The OpenClaw GUI gateway should have a workspace file explorer. If you run it on a VPS, you have to invent workarounds to access the filesystem.

So OpenClaw on a VPS with Kimi K 2.5 (via MapleAI) was not very smart. But the one I launched on an Umbrel + ChatGPT 5.2 is suddenly a very capable chad. What gives?

Kimi K 2.5 is very good. Open-source models will keep catching up with frontier models. Being a few months behind is acceptable. At this point, for my needs, I don’t see any reason to keep being subscribed to ChatGPT or Grok. Kimi via @Maple AI does the job well.

My internal AI agent hype has subsided. Time to go back to work.
