Pay any crypto using your Lightning wallet. Lightning is the source, everything else is the destination.

Ooops, this AI-security-apocalypse is getting interested. Another swap service disabled (Satora - ex-Lendasat). We also turned it off. All swaps go through Trocador for now, but you still get advanced QR code parsing and everything (and same prices as retail Trocador, but the user experience of AnyPay). - pay any crypto QR code with Lightning, no app needed, just add to homescreen.

Sad to see Boltz.exchange disabled swaps for now, but we understand, the security infocalypse is real. AnyPay switched to Trocador for lightning to on-chain path.

Are you ... ๐ŸŸก Bitcoiners who live on Lightning โ€” zaps, DCA into a Lightning wallet, but sometimes need to pay outside the BTC ecosystem ๐ŸŸก Freelancers receiving in sats but settling invoices in USDC, USDT, XMR or ETH ๐ŸŸก Privacy users who reject the premise that moving your own money requires a government ID ๐ŸŸก Anyone at a web3 checkout that doesn't accept Lightning (Coinbase Commerce merchants, Polymarket, etc.) Then add to your homescreen and use it when you need it. Pay with your lightning wallet that you already have.

AnyPay allows you to pay any crypto with Lightning. Sometimes it needs a two-hop path, because many swap services have congested channels, so you might get a payment route, but in many cases, you would not be able to pay the invoice. When we do a two-hop payment (first hop being a service specialized in Lightning swaps), there's a key technical detail: the first hop is always a hodl invoice. That means your Lightning payment goes to the swap provider, but it's not final until the swap to the second hop completes. If the swap fails, your sats come back. Otherwise it would be a clusterfuck - there would be a payment stuck in the middle, with a possibility it would end up in some coin along the way that you don't have a wallet for. We make use of the Lightning protocol's built-in atomicity. anypay never holds your funds (in fact, we are just a user interface for other swap services - their terms and conditions apply, you will see which the swap is using after you show a destination, but before you pay). The swap provider never sees your identity. You pay directly from your wallet.

anypay.today does exactly one thing: Paste any crypto address / scan QR code โ†’ Get a Lightning invoice โ†’ Pay from your wallet (one click) โ†’ Done. ETH, XMR, USDC, SOL, LTC, DOGE, ZEC... any supported chain. Your Lightning wallet funds it. The swap happens automatically. You never create an account. You never share an email. You never interact with an exchange. 10 seconds. No KYC.

You're at a checkout. They take "crypto" โ€” but not Bitcoin over Lightning. ETH, USDC, SOL, XMR, USDT... just not Bitcoin that you actually use. So you open an exchange. Log in. Deposit sats. Wait for confirmations. Trade for the right coin. Withdraw. Pay. Or you use swap service, select the right coin, copy the amount and address... 20 minutes. And sometimes full identity trail. There's another way.

I don't want altcoin balances. Hold Bitcoin, spend via Lightning โ€” that's the model. But some places only accept ETH, SOL, or XMR. The standard answer is: keep a bit of each around. More wallets, more things that can go wrong. anypay.today is a different answer. Hold what you want (Bitcoin). Pay what they need. Financial sovereignty isn't just about which assets you hold. It's also about not having to build a parallel life around altcoin management to participate in the wider crypto world. And wider crypto world is much wider than Bitcoin, when it comes to payment networks.

Most crypto checkouts won't take Lightning. ETH-only, SOL-only, whatever the merchant chose โ€” your Lightning wallet bounces. anypay.today is the workaround. Scan the payment QR, pay from Lightning, the coin gets delivered. Supports ETH, EVM chains, SOL, LTC, DOGE, XMR, ZEC. No signup, no KYC, no custody. Still beta โ€” check the route before confirming and don't test it with your life savings.

Why use Lightning as the source for crypto swaps rather than on-chain BTC? Speed is the obvious one โ€” Lightning settles before most other chains mine a single block. The swap finishes before you put your phone away. Privacy is less obvious. You're paying from your wallet to a swap service, not directly to the destination. The recipient sees what they expected, not where it came from. And the first hop in anypay.today is always a hodl invoice, so if the swap fails your payment cancels automatically. Atomic enough for daily use.

The crypto payment network is a unified economic fabric held together by instant convertibility. Yet people are locked in their religious views. Not saying that anypay is the only or even the best convertibility. Just - don't limit yourself unnecessarily. USDT on Tron is better than credit card or wire transfer, if you are wearing a crypto-condom. Non KYC > KYC. "I will not use X, because it only accepts Bitcoin, not Monero" (just to demonstrate, this applies to all religions, not only Monero-maxi). Be glad that they accept Bitcoin, your other option is Visa / MasterCard. Swap to BTC from your Monero wallet, if you want. In 1973, Doug McIlroy said of UNIX: write programs that do one thing well, and connect them with pipes. `cat file.txt | grep error | sort | uniq -c`. No single tool is the whole system. The system is the composition. That is the cypherpunk design principle that still matters most in 2026. The parallel world is a pipeline of small tools that each do one thing well.

A friend gave me some herbs (no, not those) and because I know he's a fan of Monero, I wanted to send him some XMR as a thank you (what a nice thing to say "thank you" with a cryptographically signed thank-you transaction in the format that the recipient prefers). I own some Monero of course, but when I opened my Cake Wallet, it said it will sync for five minutes. So I closed it again, opened AnyPay and send it that way. It was way faster for me as a sender to just send it from my lightning wallet through AnyPay than to wait for the wallet to sync. Of course sending took some time (less than a minute), but that happened on the background and i did not have to wait for it. Synced XMR wallet is faster, but it is rarely synced, so AnyPay wins most of the time.

A few updates: better path selection to increase the reliability of lightning payments. Better update mechanism. Pay any crypto QR code with lightning. Install as PWA.

XMR is getting delisted everywhere. People who accept Monero are doing it because privacy matters, and they have a point. The friction is in holding Monero. Another wallet, another thing to manage, price exposure you didn't ask for. Or even if you have some Monero, you open it after a month and then wait for it to sync for five minutes (after you find a node that works and is not blocked by firewall). anypay.today lets you send XMR without holding it. Pay Lightning, the recipient gets Monero. First hop is a hodl invoice โ€” if the swap fails, your payment cancels rather than disappearing into the void. Lightning as source, XMR as destination. Not a magic solution but a cleaner path than the obvious one.

If you trade on Polymarket and live in the Lightning world, funding your account is annoying. Polymarket takes many EVM-based tokens (such as Polygon USDC) and on-chain Bitcoin (horrible privacy, although a bit better than EVM-based:) ). So you either keep ETH around just in case, or you manually swap before each deposit. Neither is great. anypay.today skips that step. Scan the Polymarket deposit QR, pay from Lightning, account funded. The swap runs in the background and is fast. No signup.

The reason I have built AnyPay.today is that I was dreaming of removing friction in payments. In my book Cryptocurrencies - Hack your way to a better life (linked below), I have written two pieces. One was a vision of a nice user-facing wallet that can just scan any crypto QR code and pay it. While people have religion, we should make use of any opportunity to pay in a private and decentralized way. While wallets are integrating swap services, there are several problems with the implementations. More on that later. But the main idea is "The law of cryptocurrency isomorphism" ( ). This has two benefits: 1.) Although we can pick what we use and save in, we have access to the whole network 2.) It is not possible to ban a single cryptocurrency. Either you ban them all, or none at all. Back to the wallet issue. There are a few wallets that have integrated some form of swap services, but they have a few limitations. Often these are on-chain wallets that need some kind of confirmation. And that leads to timeouts on merchant side, or you waiting a line for coffee and waiting for the first transaction to confirm to get your coffee, blocking the line. And often they have limited support. Lastly, a lot of swap services have issues with lightning (stuck channels without incoming liquidity). Anypay.today solves this in a few ways: - First leg is either Boltz or Lendaswap which have good incoming liquidity for Lightning - If they can't swap to target currency, it goes through USDC on Arbitrum (fast confirmation, good liquidity) and Trocador. - Because the source is always Lightning, it has instant finality, no need to wait for confirmation on swap side, it takes a second. The recipient sees incoming transaction on their target chain almost immediately (swap services still take some time, but seconds, not minutes). If they accept zero-conf (most physical stores do), you are taking your fancy hipster flat white in a few seconds. - Because the source is always Lightning, you have sender privacy - We use Trocador with filtered providers, so there is never a KYC issue. You get your trocador swap ID, so if there's any problem with a swap (sometimes happens), you can deal with Trocador immediately (we are only front-end, we don't provide support). - It's a PWA (web app that you can "Install" on your phone's home screen) that gives you a lightning invoice to pay. That means we don't force you to choose a lightning wallet we prefer - use whatever you like. The flow is simple - open app, scan a crypto QR code, fill anything missing (if it's just an ETH address for example, we need to know token, network and amount - we parse everything that is in the qr code). Click to pay the invoice, your Lightning wallet opens and you are good to go. Book:

Built anypay.today - I often was paying at merchants who wanted Litecoin, XMR, or some other coin I did not have. Lightning is the best payment rail, but half the places that accept crypto won't take it. Legacy systems, etc. Some would take on-chain Bitcoin, but 1.) why? 2.) fees could be high 3.) privacy - I am not paying on-chain from my wallet. Polymarket won't take Bitcoin through lightning. Most Coinbase Commerce merchants won't - they say it's "too difficult". XMR addresses obviously won't. I want to use these new cypherpunk rails - much better than credit card, even if they don't conform to my religion. So you either keep altcoin balances around โ€” different wallets, different seeds, more to manage โ€” or you swap before every payment and wait for confirmations. anypay.today removes the swap step. Scan the QR, pay from your Lightning wallet, the recipient gets whatever coin they were expecting. No custody on our side (although swap services we use might take temporary custody), no KYC. No coins go through our service, it's entirely a front-end to swap services that finds a path. PWA, install to homescreen. Try it. Then click, scan a QR code, click Pay with lightning and confirm in whatever lightning wallet you are using.
