Couldn't agree more, like instead of fixing Bitcoin core interface to make it a lot easier, they are always changing other shit that does more harm than good

The issue is that there are scams. The only way do correct it, is to scream at people, that it is idiotic to get devices with bad reputation from random places online. Equally, you also should not buy Rolex from a gipsy salesman on the beach. Do not shoot the messenger.
