Totally true. Social anxiety, division within societies and decrease in genuine discussions are clearly caused by those algorythms. Social science shows, that more polarized posts generate more comments, more reposts and let people use an app for more time. So. Every eyeball capturing machine automatically tends to push every individual towards more polarized content every day. And we are not strong enough as individuals to win against those algos. The only option is to use better ones. Such algos that prefer right above wrong. And yes so often right is might very boring.
