I'm writing a book. I plan open sourcing it, but writing chapters in markdown on GitHub and then convert it to epub is a pain in the ass.
I'm just began using bibisco. I like it so far because it has features that make planning and goal setting easier.
If you're an author on #nostr, what do software do you use to write books? What do you like about this software? What do you think could improve it?

Thanks. I'll check it out. ๐ค
Just obsidian. Eventually I'll be able to point my clanker at it for spelling and some grammar checks since it is just markdown files.
I don't need much else. I prefer to keep things as simple as possible.
I used Obsidian to write for like 3 years, but it was before AI took off. Converting Markdown to a book format sucked, but it's probably easier now.
I started using bibisco though and I love the goal setting and wordcount feature.
There is a plugin for obsidian to convert stuff to epub now, too.
Never heard skt bibisco before.
Oh cool. Good to know. Thanks.
I use a word template from Amazon that I put in google drive to write my books. My husband has an old version of word that he owns (rather than subscribe or whatever they do now!)
We publish through Amazon, so for the Kindle, I put the book into Kindle Create and that reformat it and I do some edits and then that converts it into whatever format they use.. maybe epub, I'm blanking on if it's that or something else right now ๐
