Your son -- still a "person". Still has rights. But if your son goes off into the world and does something horrible, you have some aspect of both legal (in some jurisdictions) and certainly moral culpability. You don't just get to say "well that's his gun he bought fair and square with his own money, so I wash my hands of it"

My statement stands, and yours goes off in a different direction not related to what we’re talking about (what it means when i say my son or bot owns something). His rights or lack thereof doesn’t change what I’m talking about.
