I do find it amusing that despite his success neither of us would trade places with him. His experiences are interesting & worth hearing but I have no desire to live that life. Maybe if I were still in my 20s it would still be applicable to me personally. We have entered an era when people don't care about casual sex as much. It no longer carries the allure or status it once did. Gen Z girls are terrified of ending up like barren Millennial women. There is still a promiscuous minority but by and large it is a different world. It doesn't surprise me - there was a long era of promiscuity and now there is a reaction against it. These things happen predictably in history. Jay is caught up in an old paradigm and afraid to move on. His advice works, but I just have no interest in living in the city and chasing skirts when I can live in suburbia and have peace and quiet. The idea of radically changing my habits so that I could bag a lot more lays has zero appeal at this time in my life. And I am not low T compared with most men these days - nor do I dislike pretty girls - I just think the emphasis in your life changes with time and the things that seem important as a youth become less so over time. you can only have something while you're alive. thus having things appeals to children. if you're an adult you should be more interested in creating something that will outlast you.

That's the one thing I haven't lost: the desire for expression. Sort of the Nietzsche approach of living your life as if it were a work of art. The other arts being adjunct to that: for me performance of music and dance, and to some extent writing and visual arts. It is my only hope at this point since I too reached the dread age of 40.
