The board of openAI has been “reshuffled” and, as it turns out, could not fire Sam Altman. 2 members of the board are part of the “effective altruism” movement. Jeff was right in his interview with Preston. Big tech will try to build a regulatory moat around AI. They will take all the profits, all the data. The world will be left with fk me.

The State-sponsored moat concept won’t succeed. At most it’ll drive innovation to other countries, or, just as likely, to open source anons. This isn’t a physical business like making cars or laying wires. It’s pure digital. Information. Can’t be stopped.
Big tech have been able to monopolize the entire internet. Or at least the products built on top of it. 3 choices for a cell phone 2 app stores 2 operating systems

Self hosted open source AI will win
Those monopolies leak like sieves. I'm more concerned about the limited number of TPU manufacturers, but at least China and Russia will continue to sell hosted access... (Until they abruptly buddy up with Washington again.)
