In times like these, I'm incredibly grateful we have:
#Monero - digital cash
#GrapheneOS - mobile freedom
#Nostr - social freedom
#NymVPN - truly private VPN
#KeePassXC - open source password management
#Lemmy - federated communities
#SimpleX - truly private chat
#NanoGPT - access to the best AI models, without needing an account (and payment with Monero)
In a world where governments are doing everything they can to command and control, free software developers are building and shipping tools that offer us unparalleled freedom.
If you haven't tried some of these tools, let today be the day you choose one to explore. And if you use and love some of these tools, consider making a donation to one today!

How does lemmy work?
Like Reddit, but not controlled by a single individual. Anyone can host their own instance and federate into the network (like Mastodon).
Easiest way to get started is to download a client like Voyager (Android) or Mlem (iOS), and choose an instance on which to create an account.
nice to see another lemmy user on here ๐
also, if your hardware can do it, try selfhosting AI ๐ค
And i2p, tor ๐
Oh wow, I already use almost every single tool on this list
Session > SimpleX. Take a look at the investors of SimpleX and you know enough
Using KeePassXC ~10 years ๐
Scratch graphene out of that list after trying to find in detail where the huge amount of funding is coming from, and why the heck they only support compromised hardware directly from Google.
Opt for saner approaches like LineageOS and /e/OS.
SimpleX others already mentioned the pitfalls. Just keep distance.
Scratch TOR unless you enjoy running your data on a project continuously sponsored only through intelligence agencies (not being ironic).
Thanks for the tip. I have visited and seems full of lefties and US liberals complaining about satan being elected in their country.
In either case, despite their illusions is kind of good to see they are forced to push forward decentralized technologies so there it at least a good thing and lemmy looks okay so far. Of course that they are running on a federation which means you'll be kicked out one day but it doesn't look bad.
Interesting....
