If Nostr grows in user base, without an algo, what stops the incentive of constant business and spam postings from flooding feeds when thereβs no algorithms?

web of trust, anti-spam measures on relays, and client-side filtering
but i think nostr will always have more spam than other protocols, we just need to work together to overcome it
I think we have to write good longform articles on how to fight the spam and populate those.
I would hope that there would be publicly accessible lists for curated notes of working protection setups.
When there are no algos, knowledge has to be our shield.
But chronological order is a sorting mechanism for a feed as well, and not necessarily the best one to grow Nostr usage.
To reason by analogy, every married couple has a prenup, whether they know it or not. If they don't draft one, their marriage falls to their state's terms and conditions for marriage and divorce, as default. If more people thought about that, they might desire exploring other options. Will every algorithm feed be perfect - that's impossible. But will they always be worse than a chronological feed? Not always. I think some user control over the algorithm model might make the Nostr experience better for some users, some of the time.
we have algos, just not at the protocol level. combinations of Web-of-Trust and algos will help with spam.
WoT is great. I was and am ignorant to the algo's on Nostr. Where can one learn more about the clients with algo's and what the models are?
