Is it though? Negative feedback loops are generally beneficial, as they promote stability and equilibrium. I would argue that politics, at least in its modern form, is more of a positive feedback loop, leading to increasing levels of chaos.

I actually didn’t realize this when I wrote the note. The microphone reverb spiral is a positive feedback loop but its not a positive outcome. Negative in the feedback loop context isn’t a negative outcome. Thank you for pointing this out.
