You spend your entire life voting Every cycle is existential and harrowing Even the cycles when your tribe's leaders are in power But especially when they aren't Nothing fundamental ever changes Laying on your deathbed at 83 As society inexorably decays You strain to raise your arm To tick a box on the floating screen projected in front of you In a hoarse voice you declare "This time, things will finally change..." You die They don't

I vote independent usually, or a minor party based on the individuals policy. But I understand you're talking about American elections which make ours actually seem democratic in comparison. Personally I don't believe that politicians are necessary at all. We the people should vote on policy ourselves directly instead of electing people to vote for us. Like Libya before the NATO backed invasion. Read Gaddafis green book, a better society is possible. One of the biggest potentials of blockchain in my opinion would be facilitating large scale direct democracy. Libya was able to make it work because they only had something like 5 million people, with blockchain it could scale up to bigger countries. No more need for politicians or political parties.
