I've heard that so often but since just a few people actually spend all that time, what are the others doing? What's actually doable that's actionable? Who is doing something more efficient? I'm not one to direct the people so I rather spend my time and doing something to better my understanding of at least my reality. So what's actually gained by whomever when I "waste my time" instead of doing... what exactly? The argument reminds me of the "this is impossible because too many people would know and some would expose it" narrative which also aims to ridicule anyone interested in looking deeper into any of this stuff.

Media and the state and who knows what secret societies manipulate the line between being paranoid and curious. Those of us who suspect foul play are the new historians and investigative journalists and slip stream writers all rolled into one.
