I'm often curious why people refer to certain dictatorships as 'communist' when a pure communist state, as envisioned theoretically, has never truly existed. Wait, I take that back—there is a country that implemented a centrally planned economy, much like the theoretical communist ideal. Which one? You guessed it: China.

I'm not sure when China was communist or how you'd have a "country" with communism China is pretty strongly communo-capitalist now, like the US. Taxes for the poor, handouts for the rich
