Have you ever carried a Leatherman? I don't think I could only carry a knife anymore. I like the option of serrated or straight blade and then the pliers and scissors and tools.

How do you like the civivi knives? I've been looking for a new one and have had my Benchmade for almost 10 yrs

I carried Swiss Army Knives for years, still keep one in my bag daily, along with a pair of Knipex pliers. I have a Victorinox swisstool spirit that I keep in my leather working box, and it's an excellent tool, but I never took to carrying it daily.

This is the first one I've had, and I'm quite impressed with it. Some people get picky about blade steel and smooth bearings, but I've been carrying fixed blades and slip joints and haven't had a new modern folder for about 15 years, so it's way smoother and better quality than the flipper knife I had back then. The Elementum model is quite popular and has linerlock and button lock versions and an impressive number of handle options.

I would carry a small knipex if I didn't have the Leatherman and an adjustable wrench that opens up to 9/16 inch. The Swiss tool has always interested me but at the price point and never handling one I couldn't justify over the wave Leatherman. I prefer the leatherman surge if I only had to pick one but I don't like belt carry and the surge is just to large for a pocket so I go with the wave I. My pocket and keep the surge in my grab bag.
