Oh I'm afraid that doesn't apply across the board, the only boomer couple in my life - he worked some bullshit middle management job for decades, she never had to have a career, just some social jobs to pass the time.
He just retired this year at like 63 or whatever and for the last couple of years, they took three to four proper beach holidays every year plus three to six weeks of skiing in the French alps, own a house that's been paid off for decades, two cars, two children in their 30s, no sweat at all.
They didn't inherit the money for all of that either, he's from a piss-poor family and she inherited a little something only well after everything was paid for.
Just lucky enough to grow up in a world in which showing up on time for a normal job, not stealing from the company, not gambling or using drugs, and the bare minimum of financial literacy could get you a decent middle-class life.
And I'm paying for the guy's retirement, among other things the roughly 75% of my income the government takes pays for ๐
