The year is 2025. If I need to talk to a sales person to be able to obtain your product (give you money), you're not gonna make it.

Yes! This is maddening.
We cancelled our Sky TV subscription via an AI chat bot.
When it discovered what we wanted to do, it told us we had to phone a real human.
We said, "nah, we're fine, let sales know yourself" 😂
As a sales professional I find this intriguing...
Is AI replacing us or what is the rest of the theory
This is relevant.
For sure, there are going to be exceptions, and sales skills are a great thing for some businesses, mostly B2B, because for B2C I pretty much share Clark’s take.
Recently I bought car insurance. I just wanted clear and honest information on the website, easy subscription and easy cancellation. I don’t want to speak to anybody, everything must be automated. I only want to deal with humans when it’s truly necessary.
Same with banks, I don’t need a personal finance assistant. I just want everything clear, honest, and fully automated.
And as those, many more examples.
A sign of a bad service.
A dying service 😂
Agree on B2C
I've been in B2B sales the last 20 years and see the value in strong relationship based sales. The SAAS sales model I think may also be dead
Hot take: Any company that needs a sales department probably doesn't need to be a company.
I think you are correct.
