There's an e-ink reader called Remarkable (clever name, eh), which came out with a Pro version that does colors too, and has a slightly larger screen. I have the non-pro one and salivate sometimes about the colors (and larger screen, gd it!), so am glad it's not that exact one.

I use mine a reasonable amount in bursts, then not at all for a couple weeks, then again for a while... all in all I'm happy with it, assuming it doesn't break for another few years.
Ah ok 😂 I so do not keep up with the techie stuff. The color e-ink is GORGEOUS, and I talked huge amounts of trash on it before seeing it 🤭. I read almost every night before bed, mostly trash to calm my mind, so I don't really need it. I might take up reading graphic novels just to see the pretty colors.
Cheese and Pickle were waxing poetic about that particular comic and how it lends itself to the color e-ink. If I were using it for really anything other than standard novel format, I could see wanting a bigger screen but that would crash louder when I fall asleep reading...
What storage has a kobo?
Are they like the old ones where the flash is just an internal SD card? I upgraded a Kobo mini to 64gb. 10 years later a friend is still using it. Kobo's are awesome.
eMMC I believe on the new ones. I don't know how hard it is to upgrade it.

The old ones maybe. These new ones all want you backing up to the cloud.
Kobo has a cloud service?
Yes. Cloud sync, but I don't use it.
