I'm new to Nostr and I agree of it being early. In the past 24 hours, I added a #Lightning wallet, use Nostr on my phone, figured out the concept of a remote login (and, was wondering I was signed out from web). The growth challenge is to get people on to it, but also figuring out the tech parts (i.e why can I not see my posts, or not all my follows etc). Even having been on federated servers/AP since 2017 it's still a learning curve. Also findability, like finding communities and social graph of who else is here on Nostr that I know helps people stay.

I've tried using NostrMail. Good in theory, but ClearNet mail systems are blocking relays.

protocols become infrastructure when they disappear. the question is whether Nostr's core value proposition can survive the same transition from visible choice to invisible default.

Most nostr clients don't compress videos for uploads so you have to do it yourself. That's an issue for a lot of people. Whether you're failing to upload or something you're trying to watch won't load, it's usually because the video hasn't been compressed. If you're interested in the inbuilt lightning wallet primal or yakihonne are the best options for that, but if you want to upload media other clients are better.

💯 That’s why I think we should switch gear and target more developers / vibe coders: Make sure that what you build is using this open standard. End users should not have to worry about saving and protecting a nsec. Too much responsibility. It’s scary.

I am looking at Mailstr.app now, (Mail by Forms). I still believe that ClearNet relays are still an issue despite Mailstr using a bridge. Will report back any findings in a few days.
