I think gold is a decent asset but to say how beneficial it is in settling global transactions is tough. Other rare, and precious metals that are lighter perhaps may be of more utility as a reserve assets, however I haven't researched metals enough.

My point was every nation has reserve of gold .. then why not #bitcoin ?
