The first live purchase of a hardcover general fiction book for #Lightning payment at @Whitepaper Books was a glowing success. It was a test purchase made by me, but it's all the same.
Shopify store, Bitcoin-only payments, connected to the inventory of one of the world's largest book distributors, with shipping fulfilled by the same.
Only two books in the inventory at the moment; I'll be generating the full selection of many thousands of books (including a pretty solid economics section) over the coming days and will post an update from the @Whitepaper Books npub when all the lights are green.

would this really be the internet's first general interest (I'm talking hundreds of thousands of titles) online book store that takes lightning payments?! that seems absurd!
