i recently fielded a question from a school student: "would you rather Obama or T****"
i laughed it off, "what kind of choice is that"
but here's my full-throated response.
i would rather have Mr. T. 100 times over. i even voted for Obama.
there were no jobs for me at least, of course that could be partly Bush's fault--he's the only one in my lifetime that i dislike worse than Obama.
He promised "change" no more wars. bring the troops home. And then he disappeared into the White House reading books, and shooting some hoops with high profile comedians.
i will never forget when in an interview he clearly intimated that he thought more of his own success than Michelle's. if you see that kinda ego exuding from someone, you never forget.
And then he published book reading lists. ---the reading lists--- Salt in the wounds, dude. you getting your reading done in there?
i would rather all the unhinged tweets and the world ending every other day than one more reading list
scream into pillow

that was probably 2008...
2004 was Bush versus a senator whose name i can't remember.. i do remember that the senator was married to the heiress of the Heinz Ketchup empire... =D you got to love this country.
i probably should tone my complaints down. reading books was prob a good use of Mr. O's time.
i have no idea if he's egotistical, i guess i am too.
you mean Obama's speech style?
i've already forgotten, but i remember him getting kudos on speaking.
speaking of Claude... that would make it super easy to be a politician nowadays. no more speech writers. \
are you as good at extemporaneous speaking as your writing, mleku? you prob write probably as fast as i speak.
some of the funniest/most outgoing people get totally tight-lipped in front of a crowd. it's like two different skill sets entirely.
that's the best. i had a good friend who was that way. always johnny-on-the-spot with the drollery in groups
then he stood up to toast at his friend's wedding and he said one sentence in absolute gibberish and sat down
I've never thought about what to say in that scenario... Good that we are gaming this out already ๐
