The trick is that inflation rarely feels like one event. It feels like every normal bill quietly needing a larger number attached to it.
I didn't predict this particularly, but I knew zcash was cooked when people started calling it zionist cash.
Guys, I kindly ask that we not FUD other projects even though we disagree with their tradeoffs please.
Maxism is one of the biggest things holding back adoption for all coins including Bitcoin, and Monero.
i am not a maxi of any coin and i don't trust zion cash, which right now under the circumstances, is highly suspect. is that ok? can i have an opinion of my own?
There was no documented case of an inflation exploit.
It was a bug that could have caused an inflation exploit had someone malicious discovered it first.
You’re free to have your own opinion but let’s not be like feds, & spread misinformation, even for coins that are cucktards.
The underlying Z-cash tech is mostly solid, it’s unfortunate the culture however is in my opinion filled with mostly Reddit types.
there is no proof there was nor no proof there wasn't correct, but being a cynical person, and understanding the fact that both zooko and matthew greene wanted to put a backdoor in the encryption for law encforcement, the israeli developers, and then the whole trusted setup thing which really never went away despite what zcucks will tell you, makes me think this was an intentional inflation bug which was purposely exploited for a long time and only recently came to light. my circumstantial evidence case here would probably hold up in court
The fact that the devs are israeli isn't FUD, its just a fact.
I am aware of the post by Zooko, contemplating such a feature but the tech of Halo 2 implemented a Backward Secrecy mechanism, while it was true that under the previous trusted set up Z-cash could have been exploited this is no longer the case.
To give an equivalence, it’s like how under Monero’s current system of ring signatures a flood attack could reduce the ring set, whereas with FCMP++ this becomes drastically harder, if not impossible.
The bug if exploited would only impact the orchard pool (shielding), and not the transparent pool since Z-cash has a limitation on how many coins can enter, and leave a privacy pool (Turnstiles).
A developers national origin is redundant in most regards.
Yes, I know Israel is known for its intelligence agency, however, so is The United States, does that mean anything developed in America is “Fed’d”?
Yeah pretty much. Anything in a 5 eyes country is sus. Which is why Satoshi Nakamoto's anonymity was so important for bitcoin adoption, and why good chains have international users.; the tech stands on its own without astroturfing, which just isn't the case for zcash.
I agree that global decentralization is ideal but not a must, as far as I’m aware Z-cash is just as decentralized as Monero, & Bitcoin.
I have used Z-cash, & so far haven’t had any noticeable issues.
It’s not my preferred currency but it is one that I would utilize if needed.
I used Z-cash when it was worse back in the ~20%+ dev tax days, etc., & gave Zooko my thoughts, & feedback, & it looks like he implemented most of it.
Z-cash used to be way worse back then, not saying it’s perfect but it’s made a lot of improvements.
