We had more than 95% of nodes signaling upon the activation back then. It started with more than 20% nodes signaling for the small blockers. Then it grew a little by little.

yea 95% sounds legit, at 55% it seems reckless.

You have 3 mining pools each with a hashrate more than 10%, all actively mining spam. Each of these can veto the activation if it was set at 95%, since the individual miners don’t decide on their templates. Mining pool’s centralisation wasn’t this bad in 2017. That’s why the activation threshold is reduced to 55%.
