Why be on a social network at all, nostr or otherwise? An audience of one (yourself) can be had in a journal.

I've been mulling over this for a while observing others lament the fact they get no traction here. I'm now leaning towards not treating #nostr as a town square.
I do think Nostr is a premium public (and private?) journaling technology where I hope to project forward my voice to the next generations in my family and I'm very happy to whisper that into a void for now as the intended audience has not yet arrived.
Obviously the risk there is that I have to believe the protocol and decentralised relays can persist beyond my life etc. But I believe that to be true because I believe everyone here has authenticity around freedom of thought and speech.
I recently lost everything in a robbery including a rare leather bound journal hand made in Italy that I purchased in Florence in1998. It contained 25 years of hand written notes and quotes to be passed to my children. All that is gone now which was heart breaking to me.
For me I think #nostr can be so much more than a bit of random scrolling vlog lolz.
I respect everyone's right to use this protocol according to how it can best serve them. Peace. ✌️
