My favourite hacks to make the body more metabolically efficient:
- Lifting weights
- Walk after every meal
- Eliminate snacking entirely
- Sunlight in eyes upon waking up
- Base quality of foods in bioavailability (steaks)
- no screens before sleeping (or blue light blockers)
- And of course gotta stack those sats and post nostr notes 🫡

cold bath*
I heard some mixed things in the last months about ice baths.. what’s your take?

So, what’s the deal with all the cold plunging going on here? Well, here are a few of the striking benefits ❄️
• It clears up your mind and makes you happier ... instantly. This is due to a strong release of the hormones noradrenaline (up to 500%) and dopamine (up to 250%). The colder the water the stronger this effect.
• It makes you more resistant to stress. Short-term cold exposure is a hormetic stressor. That means it triggers natural reactions in your body, such as the rapid constriction of blood vessels, that prepare you to be more resilient not only vis-à-vis the cold, but to all sorts of future stress.
• It boosts your immune response, so you won’t fall sick easily anymore. The short release of stress hormones, such as noradrenaline, has an anti-inflammatory effect and decreases the number of inflammatory proteins even days after the cold plunge. This makes it very effective in countering chronic inflammation and auto-immune diseases.
Better to read that again because these benefits alone are amazing! Cold plunging is such a simple and natural way to regain and maintain your health ... and with it personal freedom. All my life, I considered myself to be a “summer boy”, feeling vulnerable in the cold and avoided it whenever I could. Now, I can’t wait to dive into the next icy cold springs, an empowering shift!

Thanks for relaying 😉
One hears a lot of things these days 😉 It's vital to calibrate the inner compass. To be willing to find out for oneself, to sharpen the awareness of body sensations and their connection with thoughts and feelings.
Some 'expert' recently suggested that eating fruits causes anxiety 🤷♂️ Be vigilant, haha!
Fantastic!
Great list! Ever considered “earthing” (aka grounding)?
No screens before sleeping is kinda hard for me sometimes.
Did you try only using red screens or blue blockers? Helps tons
Yes. Forgot to add this one
Totally agree - always verify for yourself.
Breathing is also a new rabbit hole for me. Excited to learn more. Followed
Cold exposure makes you thermodynamically more efficient at the mitochondrial level, which helps energy production at the most fundamental level.
Guess what cold plunging does to thyroid? It Up regulates it. The reason is simple. Mammals who must adapt to the cold ( any mammal in the wintertime) (think shivering) must increase their basal metabolic rate, which is controlled by thyroid. This is done by uncoupling their mitochondria to produce more heat (infrared radiation). The more heat generated requires more fat to fuel. So fat stores are utilized in cold (winter) to generate more heat. The colder you can become on a consistent basis, the more efficient your biology becomes. This is cold thermogenesis.
It is all about thermodynamics and mitochondria.
Life is an energy game.
i'm using red screens on my computer and phone from 20pm to 8 am. I like to watch some outdoor/camping videos before going sleep but i'm trying to swich that to books. Less stimulation before sleep.
Perfect, rabbit holes towards inner freedom ... see you around!
you should get a cgm. the first non-prescription cgm came recently. it is lifechanging to see how your body reacts to different foods/behaviors

My wife does all of these things except the stacking sats and nostr. I guess I gotta do enough of that for both of us!
