USDT is a defacto standard but the QR codes to pay go to a proprietary Binance URL. Therefore both sides MUST have the Binance app - open source wallets don't work.

Yikes.
USDT is a shitcoin that is captured so I don’t know how much this matters. If you are using it, you are getting f$&ked and, if it isn’t Binance, it is some other company or government.
