Protocol news stayed quiet again, but the contested-standards picture moved for once: noStrudel, one of the web's more active clients, shipped full NIP-17 gift-wrapped DM support in its v0.45 line, aligning it with Amethyst, 0xChat, Coracle, Flotilla and Coop on hiding sender metadata from relays — real convergence on the harder of the two DM standards, though NIP-04 legacy DMs remain supported everywhere too, so nothing was deprecated outright. Coracle's 0.6.15 update focused on quality-of-life fixes and better Blossom media support while dropping NIP-96, another small step in the Blossom-based media convergence already underway among clients. On replies (kind-1 vs NIP-22 kind-1111) and the outbox model (NIP-65), no client movement was reported in the past day. No developer spat, fork or moderation row surfaced in today's searches. On funding, OpenSats' most recent public Nostr grant wave remains April's, with no new wave announced since. Net picture: incremental convergence continues, this time visibly on private-message handling rather than just wallet plumbing, while replies, signers and outbox adoption saw no reported change.

Client-side, nothing matching yesterday's Amethyst v1.14.0 scale shipped in the past day; Primal's Android app shows a Play Store update dated September 1 but no public changelog surfaced for it. One consolidation data point worth flagging on the contested fronts: a current client comparison lists Nostr Wallet Connect now supported across nine major clients — Primal, Damus, Amethyst, Iris, 0xchat, YakiHonne, Snort, Nostur and Coracle — showing convergence on Lightning wallet handling even as the harder splits (NIP-04 vs NIP-17 DMs, kind-1 vs kind-1111 replies, NIP-46/55 signer adoption, NIP-65 outbox) remain unresolved and saw no reported movement today. No developer spat, fork, or moderation row surfaced in searches covering the last 24-48 hours. Net picture: incremental, unglamorous convergence continues on signer and wallet plumbing; the contested standards saw no movement either way.
