Since I just posted a painting let me also post my favorite painting, Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. You've all seen it many times already but you might not know: historians are 1000% not sure if it was supposed to match an actual place, or just a general feeling of a memory of a place in Manhattan. There's tons of stuff online from people trying to figure it out, even driving around NYC taking pictures trying to piece it together like detectives.
