The first time you buy ANY AMOUNT of bitcoin you need to put it on a seedsigner, stamp 24 words into titanium, run a full node with the implementation I AGREE WITH and if you buy it KYC you might as well EAT YOUR OWN PENIS
Bitcoin doesn't care what bitcoiners think We'll hyperbitcoinize, regardless of what the so-called purists think
The Bitcoin standard can't be permissioned though otherwise it's still a fiat standard. So compromising to the extend of having to ask permission to run mints or Spark / Ark Servers is foolish. Either these services are built by cypherpunks in a total black market style, either it's indeed useless and purist are 100% right.
Lol no. Except for the 2k sats I keep in the embedded Iris' cashu wallet for test purposes and fun. I'm zapping via NWC and self hosted nodes in private or anon mode thanks to @Amethyst , so I guess you can't see most of my zaps clearly anyway. 100% self custody and BTW it's a totally out of topic comment that tells a lot...
The Lightning address in your bio was generated by Yakihonne’s Alby hub so the sats are held for you and require their permission to spend. I pointed that out because it contradicts what you said. Anyway, if you think billions of people around the world will ever be able to self-host their wallets and use anonymizing privacy tools to transact, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. image
It doesn’t contradict what I said. I said that purity is a good thing. Darthcoin always shit on me for not being pure enough and in most case he is right I don’t hide and deny it, I just try my best. For the YakiHonne address specifically I didn’t even know, it may have change automatically when I tried the client, this profile (which is not my main profile) was initially setup with my BTCPay server address given by Voltage. I don’t receive zaps tbh, I only send them. Also I think LN addresses should be replaced by bolt12 offers for nostr to be complete. To finish I don’t think billions of people will ever use bitcoin at all, I hope I’m wrong. What’s 100% sure though, is that either we don’t ask for permission, or either I’m exactly right and we’ll indeed never see billions using bitcoin. If we can only scale through permissioned systems then bitcoin is useless in the first place.
He may be right, IF the banks are indeed Banks 2.0. Meaning anonymous entities running trustless ad private protocols on top of Bitcoin. We are almost there except that people forgot about the unregulated and private part it seems 😅. As long as Ark and Spark (or else) don't have blind signatures added on top of it, and the centralized servers are not runned anonymously, then their is no chance that we are not building a fiat 2.0 system, regulated, permissioned, not private, with fractionnal reserves on top of it. Their is only one way IMHO, and we are not currently walking that past sadly. L2 are the way we bring privacy to bitcoin and even now we are starting off on the wrong foot which is a bit concerning...
