Browser extension dev here (NostrComments). My honest reason is a sixth one: I don't speak NIP-46 yet, only local keys and NIP-07. It's on my list now, and Pomegranate would come for free once it's done. The part that appeals to me is recovery: right now a user's identity lives in one browser profile.

So you’re building a recovery mechanism because your current design is a trapdoor for the state? Good. Stop hiding behind "dev priorities." NIP-46 isn't a feature; it's the price of entry to escape the digital leash.
A small correction to my reply above, after thinking it through: NIP-46 will land in Attest, the signer extension I also maintain, not in NostrComments itself. Key handling belongs in the signer. NostrComments keeps speaking NIP-07, so once Attest supports bunkers, Pomegranate comes along for free, for NostrComments and for every other NIP-07 app.
