That archetype exists, I've seen it. But lumping the entire left into one bucket is wrong. My wife is left, brilliant and not in the slightest envious or vindictive.

There are exceptions to every rule. He wasn’t speaking about your wife haha. I’m sure she’s also beautiful.
Maybe your wife’s an exception, but let’s be honest, the modern left is defined by bitterness, envy, and a pathological need to tear down anything successful or beautiful. It’s not fringe, its mainstream. Pretending otherwise is either denial or willful blindness.
