While back in Amsterdam recently, I noticed a quiet phenomenon while using public transport: nearly every face was lit not by the sun, but by the glow of a phone. A sea of people, heads bowed, eyes drawn into glass portals of endless distraction. They were connected everywhere but not present with what was around them.
It felt as if they were drowning in information, yet starving for meaning.

I wonder how things will change with HUD glasses?
Id probably still be sucked in to the reels and information in my digital world and not my surroundings. My mind usually focuses on one thing at a time. It will be interesting to see what happens when we all start wearing them.
