You can't lose Bitcoin in a boating accident. Once it's tied to your identity, you are fucked forever. If you send it through a mixer, and then use it to pay somebody, and they do something wrong with it, and you are the only KYC person in that chain, you are going to be the one who gets the hammer. If you say you lost your Bitcoin in a voting accident, and then they see it move, they know that you lied, because you are the only one who could have moved it, and they can see that you moved it on chain.
