Yeah...not sure I like everything that's evolved out of the web since Sir Tim made the net accessible to everyone. Not that I've got anything against people earning and I can see the usecase, but I wonder if it's just evolved out of the constant need for the centralised platforms to maximise screen time and if it's really a good thing to have on social media.

I have some really great, fulfilling interactions on here. Great discussion some days. Corporate social media on the other hand reminds me of high school and makes me realize most adults haven't evolved beyond that mentality.
You’re crazy. The internet has revolutionized the world through access to information, communication, and economic opportunities that would never have existed or been accessible otherwise. Not all that has come from it is good, of course, but what good thing in the world is without its own pitfalls? Nostr has potential, but not if its user base continues to be so stingy.
I'm not crazy - I remember. I also remember the hopes, dreams etc. I don't think anyone back then ever hoped or dreamed that the next generation would be able to earn a dimension by sharing memes on social media. Like I say, I'm not against people earning, but it doesn't seem to me that it's place in social media is a result of anything other than psychological manipulation.
I rarely go on legacy social media atm, this place is far more interesting and oddly, more interactive, for me at least.
Legacy social media is a lot of people posturing for attention and very little genuine interaction
