I'm running Conduit on my #TrueNAS for almost a week now and it does work. It is pretty cool to see, how it is used during the day and during the night which means that it is really used by people from one region.

How is it different/better than tor?

From what I understand, Tor is being blocked in Iran, and you need to use Snowflake for it to work. Conduit or its client counterpart Psiphon is easier for people to use. But TBH I have no real experience, maybe @Pegah can explain this better.
