Mastodon (2016), Diaspora (2010), Gab (2016), Parler (2018), Twitter (2006), Gettr (2021), Truth (2022), Hive (2020), Bluesky (2024)... all were created promising free speech. All have slipped into censorship, blocking and control. Sooner or later the powerful will push the necessary buttons, financial or legal, to make them submit. No company or individual can withstand the pressure. #Nostr is different. Users and relays have the power. Decentralisation makes it censorship resistant. Can't be evil > don't be evil.

Permission less, decentralized, but since it is public surveillance applies. Unless the term in the chart refers to something I'm unaware of. Profiles do not need any real identity but the protocol does not provide anonymity / deniability. The more popular it becomes the more state actors and companies that will monitor all activity and try to link to real identities.
Surveillance applies to public notes, but @White Noise and others will build the privacy layer. As long as no ID is required to create an npub and nsec, there is a lot that can be done.
