The reason I don't use it is... I can't install it from Aurora or F-Droid. Kinda funny I guess.
Is downloading the APK from zapstore.dev the recommended way? Any verification needed?

Aurora is Play Store so don't expect us there. I'll try to push it to F-Droid.
You can download from zapstore.dev and check the hash. It's in our nostr bio.
Yes, just download from the web. It will then autoupdate.
I don't recommend fdroid, they're known to use old and possibly vulnerable libraries for building the apps.
