our baby snake is 4 months old today 🥳 TIL of a long-standing family tradition of 收涎, literally translated as "anti-drooling ceremony. the idea is that babies stop drooling when they grow up so everyone getting together to find ways to soak up all the baby's drool early should make them grow up faster.
....so obviously one surrounds babies with cookies, breaking off pieces to soak up his drool 🤭
these traditions make no sense, but at least it's fun. the family goes around in circles and come up with funny rhymes.
