Today was the day, I got the call. Doug, the father of a friend and local business owner, was calling to inform me that I was able to pick up my meat.
I warmed up the truck and headed out, quickly, after making a large coffee to go.
Doug commented on the quality of the marbling and the great yellow fat.
Doug said, and I quote "Riley must have great soil and great grass."
Doug mentioned again that, "this is top notch beef."
I know his son, we go a ways back, 2010 era. We built oil and gas facilities and pipelines together for about a decade. Great guy. He can play the guitar and if you provoke him to wrestle he will submit you without much hesitation. Definitely a meat eater.
I think I ended up with a great deal, 535lbs of meat, and around 10lbs in soup bones. It cost $6340 CAD. $11.85 for the average pound of meat.
Pictured is the brisket, short ribs, a plethora of 1" steaks, nice big tbones which can all be found on the bottom inside, stir fry, minute steaks prepared from the eye of round, some burger and soup bones.
Not pictured, there are alot of roasts and hamburger. I just had enough space to keep mostly organized in all freezers.
I also walked away with around 110lbs of great rendered tallow.
It cost me some sats but the growing family has got to eat, and who could pass up a great deal, especially near all time high in fiat exchange?
I skipped the exchange and went P2P. Exchanged sats for fiat with coworkers and paid friend for cow and butcher for his efforts in cash. Next year ill be pushing for all in sats, they'll get here.
