Thanks for helping reveal unspoken predicates and assumptions on my part. To be clear, I already had a self-custody lightning node and have for many years. This can be hosted at home and exposed on clearnet, run on Tor, protected by VPN, Cloudflare tunnel, or other means. LND is easier to find compatible LNURL-pay software. Liquidity costs (for inbound channel) can be pretty low. Alternatively, you can open outbound only (free), spend sats as you would normally, and anything you spend becomes inbound liquidity to your node. If you can run LND or Core Lightning, you can surely also run the LNURL-pay software, so no extra costs or overhead there. You will need a domain which runs you $10-$50 / year. I use porkbun.com
