Truth is symbolized by light. The only way to block light is to block it physically. That is: by force. If a man's arguments cannot be refuted by equal or better arguments, then the only recourse is attack — ad hominems, censorship, poisoning the well. What, is the opponent going to just admit he is wrong? But when your aggression is met by peace and love, that is when you start to inquire. And in the least case, even if you were impenetrable — the light still reflects off of you. You become a light because "anything that gives off light is a light itself" (Ephesians). You have somehow caused the light to be more widely scattered.
